Today ends our great expedition on Galapagos. Breakfast was at 7:00 with all luggage out of the rooms by 7:15. After breakfast we saw an episode of Scientific American, hosted by Alan Alda, about the Galapagos. One of the guides on the show was our own Dr. Lynn Fowler, our Expedition leader. It was a great video.
Then it was a zodiac ride to the pier and a bus ride to the airport where we caught our plane to Guayquil. Going through security there was a large clear box full of items that had been confiscated by security. One of the more unusual items was a wooden rolling pin. Something any traveling bakers need to remember.
We had some good views flying into Guayaquil were we could see the river system. It looked like there had been a good amount of rain as many of the fields looked flooded.
We will overnight here and leave tomorrow for home after a long and wonderful trip to South America.
